The story behind our lovely hand lettering

We love our “Share Ideas and Make Better Stuff” mural.

Before we moved to the new studio, we were at a decidedly more modest place nearer Stroud. In the weeks before the move, Saranna Drury popped in to investigate what our co-working space was like. Having just relocated to the UK from New Zealand, she wanted to get in touch with like-minded people as she had previously worked in a co-working space over there.

She modestly showed us some of her work (which we instantly fell in love with), mostly merchandise for brands and well-known Youtubers. It’s not everyday you meet somebody who is an expert in the art of hand-lettering.

We discussed some ideas for the wall that separates the kitchen from the studio (also conveniently doubles as our projector screen wall) and Saranna came up with some initial scamps/sketches.

In the final week before opening the new studio we had Saranna come in during the chaos and paint it up on the wall using Posco pens. We projected the digital version onto the wall and she went to work.

Saranna has now moved to Bristol after being snapped up with a job at Studio B. You can find her work on Instagram and sarannadrury.com.

You're welcome to come and see it for yourself at our co-working space. We offer drop-in "hot desking" memberships, as well as full or part-time desks for digital professionals — all including fibre broadband and excellent teas and coffees. Contact us to arrange a time to come and have a look around our Chalford studio.
